US, India congratulate PM Lee on election victory

The United States congratulated Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong and the People's Action Party on their victory in Friday's (July 10) election. Singapore’s ruling party wins general election

Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong’s ruling People’s Action Party (PAP) has returned to power, winning 83 of the 93 seats contested in Friday’s General Election, even as the Opposition registered minor gains. Mr. Lee, 68, was re-elected from his Group Representation Constituency (GRC) of Ang Mo Kio. The Prime Minister led his party’s GRC team of Gan Thiam Poh, Darryl David, Ng Ling Ling and Nadia Ahmad Samdin.

Singapore plans carbon capture tech to curb climate impact of heavy industry

Singapore is planning to research and develop carbon capture, use and storage (CCUS) technology to reduce the climate impact of some its most carbon-intensive industries. A consortium that includes oil giant Chevron, infrastructure consultancy Surbana Jurong, cement maker Pan-United, and data center operator Keppel Data Centres aims to introduce a range of carbon capture systems for the energy, construction, chemicals and IT sectors within five to10 years.

Singapore: No plans to increase population to 10 million, says Government

Singapore has no plans to increase its population to 10 million as claimed on some online platforms, said the National Population and Talent Division (NPTD) yesterday. In a statement refuting these claims, it said it "would like to state categorically that these statements are untrue". It added: "The Government has not proposed, planned nor targeted for Singapore to increase its population to 10 million.
