Today I wrote a test. It was an Artificial Intelligence test. AI, for short.
Now, I have a problem with the class instructor. I believe there's a big difference between teaching a body of knowledge, and reading a book to a class.
This man does the latter, with utmost perfection, class is hardly bearable. Not to say that he is a lazy lecturer, because he is not the only one doing this.
I believe the reason for such low standards in Ghana's education system is because there is the wrong focus, and the wrong leadership. A country that is lagging behind in innovation will only learn to imitate, not re-create or innovate.
Most of our learning is directed towards "fitting" into an already established system, and most of those who graduate and enter the real world environment can only think in their small cubicles. They fear to come out because they were never taught what it was like to learn holistically.
Instead, they learn what is spoon-fed to them, however incomplete it is. This has to change. Not tomorrow, but now.

I had something more pertinent to blog about, but this issue has just come to my mind.
David Cameron (God bless him) thinks countries that see homosexuality as illegal should be refused British Budgetary Aid. I say a yes and an "Amen" to that. My reasons are listed below:
1. British Government Money is for the British People. What they decide to do with it is entirely up to them. No Ghanaian or other African has a say as to what they should or should not do with their money.
2. Europe is not a Charity. Anyone thinking the West is unbiased is naive and needs to be schooled. They have an agenda, and that is to see Western values spread across the world. The West would rather have a hegemony than what currently persists. They will want Western-style democracies, and western style economic policies everywhere there is a civilization on the planet. And they have the resources to achieve that. That is why they push revolutions and wars elsewhere. Any country or ideology on top of the world will do the same.
3. After so many years of independence, if an African country (esp. In the commonwealth) has to ask for budgetary aid, that country does not deserve its independence. In my opinion, any form of aid must come with some amount of control. If you want to be free, you must literally "earn" it.
4. Africa must realize that the world is changing, and it must adapt or be left behind - and perpetually controlled.
