The Forum promotes practices and policies for the enhancement of global trade and investment. It provides new opportunities for business networking and partnerships, drawing on the Commonwealth’s comparative advantage in areas such as services, information and communications technology, banking and financial services, manufacturing, agriculture, and natural resources.

The Forum is aimed at global business leaders, particularly from the Commonwealth, Africa, Asia, and Europe. Speakers and panellists will include Heads of Government, Ministers of Finance, Trade and Development, Chairmen and Chief Executives of business, and other industry leaders.

The Forum will focus on new opportunities for investment partnerships across different regions within the Commonwealth and internationally. The Forum will also highlight Uganda and East Africa’s advantages, opportunities, and position as a trade and investment hub.

The Forum provides a unique opportunity for delegates to:

  • Contribute to key policy recommendations to Commonwealth Heads of Government, which will be presented to their meeting in Kampala immediately following the Forum;
  • Learn about new business and investment opportunities;
  • Conduct business with other international partners;
  • Network with key government and business leaders;
  • Influence the debate on important trade and investment issues.

The Forum is organised by the Commonwealth Business Council (CBC) in collaboration with the Government of Uganda and Private Sector Foundation Uganda.

The CBC acts as a bridge for co-operation between business and government, concentrating on efforts to help remove trade barriers, mobilise investment into Commonwealth countries, foster a good environment for business and investment, promote good practice in corporate governance and corporate citizenship, and facilitate the use of ICTs for development.
